Sustainability Report 2022 | Goal 01 | No Poverty

Image
END POVERTY IN ALL ITS FORMS EVERYWHERE The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has put steady progress in poverty reduction over the past 25 years into reverse, with the number of people in extreme poverty increasing for the first time in a generation. Now, rising inflation and the impacts of the war in Ukraine may derail progress further. The combined crises could lead to an additional 75 million to 95 million people living in extreme poverty in 2022, compared with pre-pandemic projections. While almost all countries have introduced new social protection measures in response to the crisis, many were short-term in nature, and large numbers of vulnerable people have not yet benefited from them. As things stand, the world is not on track to end poverty by 2030, with poorer countries now needing unprecedented levels of pro-poor growth to achieve this goal.  First COVID-19 and now the Ukraine crisis are derailing progress on ending extreme po...

Sustainable Agriculture : Role of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi

Image
Insight into the Role of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Sustainable Agriculture Sustainable agriculture plays a vital role in agroecosystems and reduces adverse effects on the environment by utilizing the various natural processes. Optimum soil fertility is an essential goal to be achieved in sustainable agriculture system. The presence of beneficial microorganisms in the rhizospheric region and their activities are the main focal point which makes dynamic resources available to plants and conserve soil fertility. Majority of the agricultural and horticultural crops are associated with common soil fungi, the arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. These fungi are crucial for plant health and fitness as they increase the efficiencies of the plant root systems. The hyphae of these fungi originating from roots grow into the soil and absorb nutrients especially phosphorus and deliver it to the roots. They also play a crucial role in imparting tolerance to plants against variou...

How AutoML is Changing the Way We Build and Deploy Machine Learning Models

Image
Automated Machine Learning (AutoML) is a rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence (AI) that aims to automate the process of building and deploying machine learning models. AutoML offers a solution to the increasing demand for machine learning models by enabling non-experts to create accurate models without a deep understanding of the underlying algorithms or programming languages. Automated machine learning (AutoML) AutoML is based on the idea that machine learning models can be optimized by automating the various stages of the model-building process, from data preparation to model selection, optimization, and deployment. AutoML tools can generate models automatically, saving time and resources while improving the accuracy and efficiency of the process. AutoML platforms are typically based on a combination of algorithms, data, and computational resources that work together to optimize the model-building process. The algorithms used by AutoML platforms are typically based ...

From Manual to Automatic: The Benefits of RPA in Business

Image
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a technology that automates repetitive and mundane tasks in businesses by using software robots or artificial intelligence. The software robots mimic human actions, such as clicking buttons, typing, copying and pasting, and interacting with software applications, to perform tasks. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) RPA has been gaining popularity in recent years as it offers businesses the opportunity to improve their processes, increase efficiency, reduce errors, and lower costs. RPA can automate a wide range of processes, from simple data entry tasks to complex processes that involve multiple steps. Benefits of RPA: Improved efficiency: RPA can complete tasks faster and more accurately than humans, freeing up employees' time to focus on higher-value tasks. Increased accuracy: RPA eliminates the risk of human error and ensures that tasks are completed consistently and accurately. Cost savings: By automating repetitive tasks, businesses can...

Quantum Computing: The Future of Computing

Image
Quantum computing is an exciting and rapidly advancing field of technology that has the potential to revolutionize the way we process information. While traditional computing relies on binary digits (bits) that are either 0 or 1, quantum computing uses quantum bits (qubits) that can exist in multiple states at once, allowing for faster and more efficient computation. Quantum Computing Quantum computers operate on the principles of quantum mechanics, which govern the behavior of matter and energy at the atomic and subatomic level. In traditional computing, bits are processed through logical gates that perform operations on the bits to generate a final output. In contrast, qubits in a quantum computer can exist in multiple states simultaneously, allowing for the processing of many inputs at once and significantly faster computation. One of the most significant applications of quantum computing is in the field of cryptography. Cryptography is the practice of securing information using c...
